SPERE is seeking Security Professionals to provide either unarmed or armed security services for clients in Gated Communities, Commercial Business Environments and Private Schools. The security officer will provide a safe and secure environment and act as a deterrent with the ability to respond and mitigate risks. The officer main responsibilities include access control, mobile patrol, law enforcement liaison, interaction with people. Additionally, the security officer will be part of a team of other security officers ensuring security and safety is the number one priority at the client’s site. The security officer must have the ability to deal with people and deliver excellent customer service. Furthermore, the security officer must have the capability to deal with emergency situations and provide a first-line response, should an emergency occur. SPERE is seeking Full-Time and Part-time Security Professionals for various shifts.  

Security Officer

  • Ensures the site is provided with high-quality security services to protect people, property, and the sites goodwill
  • Preserves order and acts to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises
  • Builds, improves and maintains effective relationships with both client employees and guests
  • Greets guests and residents in a cheerful and welcoming manner
  • Answers questions and assists guests and employees
  • Patrols the facility on foot or mobile
  • Answers phones
  • Monitors CCTV and response to alarms
  • Reports safety concerns, security breaches in a report
  • Handles security issues or emergency situations appropriately
  • Fully embraces security/safety training programs to enhance their ability to advance in their careers
  • Maintains awareness and familiarity with the site-specific operations performance manual and post orders
Physical and Mental Functions:
  • Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces
  • Climb stairs
  • Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments
Qualifications/Requirements: 
  • Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Computer skills 
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory work attendance 
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones
  • Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public (constantly to occasionally depending on assignment)

Required experience:

  • Security: 1-3 years

Required education:

  • High school

Required license or certification:

  • Class D Security License (Sponsorship Available)
  • First Aid, CPR & AED
We will sponsor the right candidates if you do not have a Florida Class D Security License and CPR & AED Certification.
